Attention southern-based schlock fiends — here is a sub-cultural event you will not want to miss.  The Starlight Six Drive-In, located in Atlanta, Georgia, will be staging their yearly “Drive Invasion” event on October 10th.  For those not in the know, this event is a celebration of retro culture than encompasses a vintage car show, a concert festival and an all-night lineup of genuine drive-in movies.

The gates open at 10:00 a.m. and admission is $28 per person (kids ages 9 and under get in for $5 each).  Here’s a breakdown of what you get for your money: firstly, a massive lineup of bands will be playing all day, with an emphasis on rockabilly and other roots rock sounds.  The bands performing this year include such notables as Jason & The Scorchers and The Fleshtones.  There will also be a car show highlighting vehicles from 1972 and older: rat, rod, custom and stock cars will all be featured.  When night falls, a lineup of five classic drive-in faves will unspool on the big screen: Billy Jack, Convoy, The Road Warrior, Cleopatra Jones and Stunt Rock!  There will also be trailers and short subjects, including The Three Stooges and Mr. Magoo shorts.
